About The Australian Wellness Building Co.
The Australian Wellness Building Co. creates high-end wellness spaces and wellness centres on the Sunshine Coast. As a licensed Queensland builder, we specialise in saunas, wellness centres, home gyms, commercial fitouts, shop fit-outs and bespoke small works construction — serving the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and the Gold Coast. We also offer our services in Queenstown, New Zealand; our QBCC licence applies to Queensland work.
Our founder is a NZ-trained builder who cut his teeth as an apprentice on a Grand Designs New Zealand build — an experience that instilled a deep appreciation for quality craftsmanship. We partner with Modinex — a zero-waste timber facility — and prioritise low-toxin materials to create spaces that are as healthy as they are beautiful.

Our founder's story
Hamish Clarke trained as a builder in New Zealand, where he served his apprenticeship on a Grand Designs New Zealand build. Working on a home built to that standard — where every junction, finish and material choice was scrutinised — shaped how he approaches every job since.
Now based on the Sunshine Coast, Hamish focuses on saunas and wellness spaces: rooms where the details you can't see, like insulation, ventilation and moisture control, matter as much as the timber you can. He started the company to give homeowners one builder who takes a sauna from first sketch to the first session.

How we work
Design, structure, ventilation, electrical coordination and finish are all handled under one roof. You deal with one team and one point of contact, and nothing is left for you to coordinate between trades.
We line our saunas in Modinex zero-waste timber and install HUUM heaters, sized to the room and vented properly. Licensed trades complete all electrical work, and every build is planned around the site it sits on so it performs well for years.
